Take a look at this inspiring documentary

Kilowatt Ours

Johnson Controls’ involvement in promoting sustainable energy choices is diverse and far-reaching, and now includes a compelling movie.

Johnson Controls is a sponsor of filmmaker Jeff Barrie’s award-winning documentary, Kilowatt Ours: A Plan to Re-Energize America. The film educates and empowers individuals to reduce their consumption of fossil fuels by making energy-efficient and sustainable choices.

The film explores in detail the source of the nation’s electricity and the problems caused by energy production, including mountaintop removal, childhood asthma and global warming. Profiled are individuals, businesses, organizations and communities that are particularly energy conscious, using conservation, efficiency and renewable, green power—all while saving money and the environment.

In that sense, the film is every bit as pragmatic as it is inspiring. Kilowatt Ours not only showcases the environmental impact of positive energy steps, but it also illustrates that those efforts can make economic sense, saving communities and individuals money.

Award-Winning Docudrama
Kilowatt Ours has won several awards, including Best Documentary Feature- South Dakota Film Festival 2007 and Best Environmental Film-Southern Appalachia International Film Festival 2007.
